If you can't see a vacancy that interests you, why not register for one of our talent pools. Here you can attach your CV and we can get back in touch with you when a suitable vacancy arises.
+
You will only hear from us if a suitable vacancy arises, don't forget you can also set up a more specific job alert from your account.
+
If you would like to know the salary range for one of our vacancies, call the recruiter shown to the right of the advert and they will be able to discuss this with you.
+
When you apply for the role, there is a section asking you how you heard about the vacancy, click on Referral. Additionally, there is a referral section during the application process where you will be able to let us know who at VWV referred you and how you know them.
+
We know how frustrating it can be when you are halfway through an online application and suddenly the vacancy disappears however on some occasions due to the level of interest it may be necessary for us to take down a vacancy before the closing date. If that happens contact our Recruitment Team as soon as possible at careers@vwv.co.uk and if the vacancy has not been filled, we will put you in touch with the recruiter so you can still apply.
+
We aim to get back to candidates within 2 week of the closing date or if your vacancy does not have a closing date, within 4 weeks of your application being made. Currently we are experiencing a high volume of applications, so if you feel it's been that long and you still haven't heard, don't hesitate to get in touch with your recruiter who will be able to give you an idea as to when you are likely to receive an outcome.
+
Our recruiters work closely with the hiring managers to really drill down on not just the ideal candidate but also what the benefits are of the opportunity for the ideal candidate. We receive a high volume of applications, so a recruiter call not only enables us to ensure our teams are only meeting the most suited candidates but it is also a great opportunity for the recruiter to chat through the role in more detail so you can really prep if you are invited for an interview.
+
Our recruitment process varies depending on the role and team, however mostly our vacancies will involve one interview with at least two interviewers from that team, followed by an online assessment. Our lawyer vacancies and some of our more specialist business services roles will usually involve a second stage interview following a successful online assessment.
+
Due to the level of interest we receive, we are unfortunately not able to give feedback at online application stage. However, any candidate that attends an interview with us will be offered verbal feedback from the recruiter. Don't be surprised if we also ask you for feedback as we are constantly looking for ways to improve our candidate’s experience.
+
There is no need to sign the employment contract at this stage, an electronic signed version will be emailed to you once background checks have been completed, just hit reply to say you are accepting, and we'll be in touch to go through what happens next.
+
We will send our next steps email attaching our onboarding forms and let you know exactly what we will need from you and in what priority. Once the vetting checks are completed, we will send you an electronically signed employment contract and shortly before your start date, you will also receive a copy of your induction timetable, so you know what to expect in your first few weeks. Our Recruitment Team go to great lengths to ensure you are kept up to date throughout the onboarding process so there will be plenty of contact with us right up until your start date.

Unfortunately, we are not able to support requests for ad hoc work experience outside of our Vacation Scheme placement. Find out more details of how to apply for our Vacation Scheme.
+
We already have a number of Business Services' Apprentices and are keen to build on that number. We are also hoping to roll out Solicitor Apprenticeships by Autumn 2022 so watch this space and keep an eye on our website in early 2021 for more details.
+
Our Vacation Scheme application round opens around November each year, candidates will need to pass a series of assessments before being invited to a Vacation Scheme placement which we currently run in our Bristol and London offices each Summer. At the end of the Vacation Scheme placement, candidates will have the opportunity to attend an interview which may result in the offer of a training contract to start in two years' time.
+
There's no requirement for previous paralegal experience in order to apply for a Training Contract, that said we love nothing more than our seeing our Paralegals become Trainee Solicitors with the firm and do all we can support their application internally, so if you're finding it hard to secure a Training Contract, why not apply for a Paralegal role with us which will enhance your commercial acumen and provide the perfect building blocks for your future Training Contract. If you can't see a vacancy, then why not register for our Paralegal Talent Pool and we will let you know when we have one.
+
Not necessarily, because we champion our internal route to a Training Contract, it means we quite often are able to start our future Trainee Solicitors early so whilst your offer will usually be made two years in advance, and whilst we can't guarantee this at the time of offer, you may get a call offering you an earlier start date, but don't worry it will entirely be your choice to start early or stick to your original start date.
+
We have made no definitive plan around the timescales for rolling-out the SQE, though we are working towards Autumn 2022 for Training Contracts starting in 2024 and at this stage we anticipate launching alongside our traditional route before fully transitioning across to SQE.

Polite note to agencies - VWV has made the financial investment to employ an in-house recruitment team to adopt a direct sourcing strategy which supports the future growth of the firm. If on occasion agency support is required for any of our live vacancies, introductions will only be deemed accepted if the agency has agreed to VWV's recruitment terms through our Recruitment Manager, Emma Forrester. We'd please ask that you do not send unsolicited introductions to our Partners or anyone else in the firm. Should we engage with your candidate through our own direct sourcing means, we reserve the right not to be bound by your terms and conditions should you do so without our consent.
