Business Analyst

At VWV, we're always looking for better ways to work. Our Digital Delivery team plays an important role in improving the systems, processes and technology that help our people do their best work and deliver a great service to our clients.

We're looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join our Digital Delivery team in Bristol at an exciting time for VWV. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys getting to the heart of a problem, understanding what people really need and turning complex ideas into clear, practical solutions.

You'll work closely with colleagues across the firm, as well as Project Managers, Delivery, Architecture, Engineering and Quality Assurance teams. Your role will be to understand what needs to change, why it matters and what success looks like, helping everyone involved work towards the same outcome.

About the Opportunity

You'll work with stakeholders to understand business needs, explore how things work today and help define how they could work better in the future.

You'll be comfortable asking questions, challenging assumptions and looking beyond the initial request to understand the real problem. You'll then turn your analysis into clear, proportionate outputs that give delivery teams what they need to move forward.

You'll also help make sure requirements are clear and testable, working closely with Quality Assurance and other delivery colleagues throughout the change lifecycle.

Day to day, you'll:

  • Meet with stakeholders and facilitate workshops to understand needs, problems and desired outcomes.
  • Analyse and document requirements, making sure they're clear and appropriate to the complexity of the change.
  • Develop as-is and to-be process models, identifying pain points and opportunities to improve the way we work.
  • Define acceptance criteria and maintain a clear link between requirements and the outcomes they support.
  • Work with Project, Delivery, Architecture, Engineering and QA colleagues to identify risks, dependencies and impacts early.
  • Produce clear, structured documentation using agreed templates and standards.
  • Support reviews and validation, helping stakeholders reach a shared understanding of what needs to change and why.
  • Use lessons from testing, delivery and retrospectives to continually improve our approach.

We're not looking for someone who simply takes notes and writes down what they're told. You'll be a constructive challenger, comfortable asking “why?” and bringing structure to situations where the answer isn't immediately clear.

About You

We're looking for someone with practical experience in Business Analysis, ideally within a business change, technology or digital delivery environment.

You'll ideally have experience of:

  • Eliciting, analysing and documenting requirements with a range of business stakeholders.
  • Developing process maps and defining current and future ways of working.
  • Producing user stories, acceptance criteria and other structured analysis.
  • Working with delivery, technical and testing teams across the change lifecycle.
  • Working in Agile, Waterfall or hybrid delivery environments.
  • Supporting change in organisations where established processes, legacy systems and developing digital capability come together.

Experience within professional services or the legal sector would be useful, but it's not essential.

You'll be naturally curious and analytical, with the confidence to ask questions and challenge constructively. You'll be comfortable working with ambiguity and able to turn an unclear starting point into something structured and understood.

You'll also need strong communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to work confidently with both technical and non-technical colleagues and build positive relationships across the firm.

Where Will I Be Working?

At VWV we have a truly unique and engaging culture that we hold dear. We work hard but we also love to have fun and we recognise that it's the social interaction between us that really shapes our culture.

In this way, you'll benefit first-hand from our warm and friendly culture as well as facilitate cross referral opportunities from your colleagues in other teams. We are of course happy to discuss any specific requirements of hybrid working with candidates on an individual basis.
