Business Development Lead

We're on the lookout for a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Lead to help us expand our market reach and drive revenue growth.

About The Role

As our Business Development Lead, you'll play a key role in shaping and executing strategies to strengthen client relationships and grow our business. Through research and client segmentation, you'll identify new opportunities while working closely with our  wider Business Development and Marketing teams to ensure effective communication and data-driven decision-making. Engaging with clients, stakeholders, and intermediaries, you'll foster meaningful connections, uncover cross-selling opportunities, and help expand our service offerings.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll be at the forefront of driving business development initiatives, generating new leads, and strengthening existing client relationships. Understanding client needs and ensuring they receive the best support from VWV will be a key focus. Keeping ahead of market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments will help shape business strategies.

Representing VWV at industry events, networking opportunities, and client seminars will also be an exciting part of this role. Working with the team, you'll segment clients and tailor engagement strategies to ensure meaningful interactions. Tracking and reporting on business development performance will help drive improved results.

Developing in-depth knowledge of VWV's sectors, products, e-learning offerings, and services will support informed recommendations to clients. Leading and mentoring the team, providing clear objectives and development plans, and ensuring a high-performance environment will be an important part of your work.

About You

We're looking for someone with a strategic mindset who can think big-picture while delivering practical solutions. A proven track record of driving growth in a senior managerial role and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are key. Strong leadership abilities, a detail-oriented approach, and a collaborative problem-solving style are essential. Success in building and maintaining relationships with key clients and stakeholders is crucial. Strong analytical skills, including forecasting, relationship management and reporting, will help you succeed in this role.

You'll offer extensive experience in business development and client engagement. A strong ability to identify new clients and drive business growth, as well as experience in stakeholder engagement and management, is essential. Skills in data management, analytics, and business strategy development will also be very  important.

Where You'll Be Working

This role is based in one of our four offices—Bristol, Birmingham, Watford, or London. You'll spend 2-3 days per week in the office, so your commute should be realistic. Occasional travel to other offices may be required.
