Commercial Property Solicitor

Here at VWV, our Chambers recognised commercial property team are in growth mode and looking to increase their number with a bright and client facing Solicitor, ideally newly qualified or at the early stages of their post-qualified career.

About us

As a Top 100 UK law firm, we're known not just for the quality of our work, but just as importantly to us, for the quality of our people.

The wider Real Estate department is headed up by Michelle Bendall, with teams in all our offices, recognising our breadth and strength servicing a strong national client base. This role is within the commercial property team, working alongside Jess Booz, a partner in the Bristol office. Your role would be a new role in recognition of the fact that the team continues to grow and requires additional resource.

The Role

Jess' team undertake a wide range of commercial property work for public and private sector clients (from charities and small regional organisations through to larger national institutions). Your varied workload will include landlord and tenant matters as well as acquisitions and disposals. Our commercial property team are consistently recognised in Chambers, so you'll often find yourself working on good quality matters.

This is a sociable and collaborative role where you'll enjoy working closely with colleagues in other teams and offices. Here at VWV, we're always keen to ensure our lawyers gain real client contact, especially during the early stages of their qualified career, and so you will be encouraged to manage your own caseload from an early stage within a supportive framework for supervision to nurture personal development and growth for your future career at VWV. This being said, we don't want you to feel that you're running before you can walk, and therefore you'll be given as much responsibility as you feel ready for, but with a really strong safety net.

Ideally, you'll be approaching qualification or at the early stages of your qualified career and have completed at least one training seat in commercial property. You do not need to have experience in a specific sector, but you should be resilient, self-motivated and willing to learn, as these attributes are most important to us.

Where will I be working?

We have been operating a hybrid model of office and remote working.  As a lawyer at the early stages of your career, we would encourage you to spend most of your working week in our newly refurbished Bristol office, to make the most of our supervision and guidance through this stage of your career. We're happy to discuss any specific requirements of hybrid working with candidates on an individual basis.
