Stuck in a rut and looking for a new challenge? Ready for a leadership role and not being valued in your current firm? If this rings true for you then read on to find out how a move to VWV might be the best decision you make this year.
About us
We're a Top 100, full-service UK law firm with over 600 employees. With 4 offices in London, Watford, Bristol and Birmingham, you'll be struck by our close-knit and friendly culture. We believe in integrity and authenticity- in each one of us being ourselves both in our interactions with each other as well as with our clients. With a reputation not just for the quality of our work, but also for the qualities of our people, we strive to recruit individuals who are proactive and passionate about what they do and able to demonstrate humour and humility in equal measure.
The role
As a result of succession planning, we have an exciting opportunity for a bright and dynamic lawyer with strong experience in partnerships work, to develop and lead our practice. Your bread and butter is likely to be corporate transactional work with additional exposure to partnerships disputes work being desirable but not essential.
Here at VWV our reputation in this area is second to none, with for instance the medical element of our Partnerships work ranked as top tier, nationwide in Chambers and Partners UK (2025). What this means is that you'll be joining a team with pre-existing expertise and a client base that is highly engaged and receptive to your efforts.
On a day to day basis, you'll enjoy working for a range of partnership clients, many of which lie within the professional services arena as well as within the health and education sectors. You'll relish the chance to build on the strong relationships we already have in place with a number of partners from GP practices, accountancy firms, property consultancies and other professional partnerships where changes in the life of their practice require a skilled lawyer to carefully reflect the changes in law. Within your role you'll enjoy working collaboratively with a dedicated team of corporate lawyers, as well as with colleagues from our Chambers acclaimed education and healthcare teams.
About you
As many of these matters are transactional in nature, you're likely to be an experienced corporate lawyer, most likely working with a regional, national firm or corporate boutique.
You've likely reached a stage in your career where you're seeking something more… perhaps a change in culture- so many lawyers join us in search of an environment that is warm, transparent and where flexibility is part of our DNA. It could be that you've hit a glass ceiling in your current practice and are seeking a more significant role with greater responsibility. Here at VWV, you can have the best of both worlds- a supportive environment in which to reach your professional goals and a flexible and grown up culture that enables you to switch off and relish the time when you're not working.
Where will I be working?
At VWV we have a truly unique and engaging culture that we hold dear. We work hard but we also love to have fun and we recognise that it's the social interaction between us that really shapes our culture.
Whilst we work to a hybrid model, for this role we would ideally like you to work from our Bristol or London office on a regular basis. In this way, you'll benefit first-hand from our warm and friendly culture as well as facilitate cross referral opportunities from your colleagues in other teams. We are of course happy to discuss any specific requirements of hybrid working with candidates on an individual basis.
Why choose us?
There are so many reasons to stop and explore VWV further. We're known for our friendly and welcoming culture where teamwork and collaboration are key. There's no pigeon-holing or glass ceilings here, just a professional yet relaxed culture where you can finally be yourself.
