12 Month Fixed Term Contract

We're embarking on an exciting journey to modernise our finance systems through Project Optimus—our flagship initiative to migrate from LexisOne to the cloud-based Elite 3E platform. To help us achieve this ambitious transformation, we're looking for a talented and driven Data Engineer to join our team on a 12 month fixed term contract in Bristol. This is a key role for someone who thrives on solving complex data challenges and is ready to make a significant impact on one of the firm's most important technology programmes.

About The Role

As our Data Engineer, you'll play a central role in the successful delivery of our system migration. You'll take ownership of the entire data migration and transformation process, ensuring our transition to Elite 3E is smooth, accurate, and aligned with business needs. Using your advanced T-SQL skills, you'll extract, transform, and load data from LexisOne to the new cloud-based platform, performing data wrangling and deep analysis to uncover patterns, address anomalies, and optimise every stage of the process. You'll work closely with developers, project managers, and business stakeholders to ensure data is clean, accurate, and ready for business use. Alongside technical execution, you'll contribute to the design, documentation, and knowledge sharing that supports long-term capability within the team.

About You

You're an experienced data professional with a passion for precision and a knack for untangling complexity. With expert-level T-SQL skills (without this your application will not be considered) and a solid background in SQL Server and Azure environments, you've successfully delivered large-scale data migrations—ideally in finance or legal settings.

You're familiar with the ins and outs of data mapping, cleansing, validation, and reconciliation, and you take pride in ensuring data integrity at every step. Collaboration comes naturally to you, whether you're working with technical peers or explaining data issues to non-technical stakeholders. You understand the importance of security, governance, and quality in every task you take on. Bonus points if you have experience with 3E, LexisOne, the Microsoft Power Platform, or Agile project delivery.

Where Will I Be Working?
