If so, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Employment Lawyer, most likely working either at Senior Associate or Legal Director level, in our Birmingham office.

The opportunity

Your new role offers the best of both worlds - working within a small group of Birmingham-based experts whilst still forming part of a larger, national Employment practice of 33 fee earners. The Birmingham team is made up of 7 dedicated employment law fee earners, so you'll enjoy being able to make a big impact on the success story of the team.

Talking of success - our reputation is striking for a team of this size.  We're ranked in both the Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners (2026), a significant undertaking for such a team.

Your new role is both varied and interesting, with high quality work to get involved in - you'll enjoy the generalist areas of employment law from advisory work, employment contracts and TUPE through to defending complex employment tribunals.  

In addition, you'll also work across a variety of interesting and buoyant sectors including Education and Charities.  For many of these sectors such as Education, our work is national in source and cutting edge in its impact.  With a particularly strong reputation in this area, here at VWV, you'll enjoy gaining expertise in a specialism that is continually busy.

About you

With your senior level of employment law expertise and commercial acumen, you'll have a proven background in supervising and motivating other lawyers, and you'll be adept at finding and engaging in networking opportunities to maintain and grow our business.

You'll have a real love of team endeavour and enjoy working collaboratively with your colleagues across the offices, helping to provide our clients with the seamless "one stop shop" service for which we are renowned.
