Employment Senior Associate
Are you an experienced Employment Lawyer, with a good few years' fee earning experience under your belt, who is looking for a firm where flexible, hybrid working, and high-quality work are simply par for the course?
If so, we have an exciting opportunity for an Employment Senior Associate to join our small and supportive team in our Watford office.
The opportunity
Legal 500 rated, with an impressive portfolio of clients, our Watford team is made up of two impressive Partners, Rebecca Fox and Michael Delaney, an Associate, a Solicitor, a Trainee and a Secretary.
Your new role can offer you the best of both worlds - the opportunity to make a big impact within a small team in Watford, whilst still forming part of a larger, highly successful national Employment practice. The role will be both varied and interesting, with high quality work to get involved in - you'll enjoy the generalist areas of employment law from advisory work, employment contracts and TUPE through to defending complex employment tribunals.
In addition, our clients come from a diverse range of industry sectors including manufacturing, finance, recruitment, pharmaceuticals, energy and education and will be based in the regions, wider UK and overseas, so you'll relish the fact that no two days will be the same.
You'll also find this role to be sociable and interactive - so you'll need a real love of team endeavour, and you'll relish the chance to work collaboratively with your colleagues across our offices, helping to provide our clients with the seamless "one stop shop" service for which we are renowned.
About you
We're looking for an enthusiastic, Associate-level Employment Lawyer, with a mixture of contentious and non-contentious expertise. Although the bulk of our work is respondent based, we undertake a small proportion of high value claimant work, although you do not necessarily need experience in this to apply.
We'd also welcome applications from those with some advocacy experience, although again this isn't essential.
At VWV, we're open-minded about your career path - whether you're currently with a smaller local firm, a mid-sized regional firm, or relocating from a national firm, what truly matters to us is your ability, attitude and aspirations within the Employment field.
About us
We're a Top 100, full-service UK law firm with 600+ employees. With 4 offices in Bristol, Birmingham, London and Watford, we have a close-knit, cohesive and friendly culture. We believe in integrity and authenticity, both in our interactions with each other as well as with our clients. With a strong reputation, not just for the quality and variety of our work, but also our people, we strive to hire individuals who are proactive and passionate about what they do.
We work to a flexible, hybrid model, so you'll be required to attend the Watford office 2-3 days per week. In this way, you'll benefit first-hand from our warm and friendly culture, as well as facilitate cross referral opportunities from your colleagues in other teams. We're happy to discuss specific hybrid working requirements with candidates on an individual basis.
We're also striving to be an inclusive employer, to create a workplace and environment that promotes and values diversity, where everyone, regardless of background, can reach their full potential. Please speak to the Talent Acquisition Advisor if you require any reasonable adjustments, so that we can ensure the best possible candidate experience for you.
