Facilities Manager

Are you a skilled professional with a knack for organisation and problem-solving? Do you enjoy working in a dynamic environment where you can make a real difference? We're excited to be recruiting a brand-new opportunity to join our team as a Facilities Manager in Bristol on a full time or part time (min 4 days per week) basis. This is your chance to step into a pivotal role, shaping and elevating our approach to facilities management from the ground up.

About the Opportunity

As a Facilities Manager, you'll take the lead in ensuring our offices are safe, functional, and efficient. Working closely with the General Office & Facilities Manager,  you'll be responsible for overseeing maintenance and operations, managing relationships with landlords, contractors, and suppliers, and ensuring the firm complies with health, safety, and environmental regulations. This role is a blend of proactive planning, project management, and reactive problem-solving, requiring a calm and well-organised approach.

In this role, you'll manage building maintenance (currently 5 buildings), ensuring all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems are in optimal condition. You'll also ensure compliance with safety regulations and help maintain ISO accreditation. Budget management will be key, as you'll monitor expenditures and identify cost-saving opportunities. Leadership skills will come into play as you supervise contractors and facilities staff while optimising space allocation and security measures across the firm.

This role involves regular travel to our other office locations, ensuring all 5 sites are operating efficiently and consistently while building strong relationships with colleagues and landlords across the firm. We understand the importance of flexibility, and while the role can be full-time, we're also open to part-time arrangements for the right candidate, with a minimum commitment of four days per week. This balance provides the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while fitting the role around your other commitments.

About You

We're looking for someone with proven experience in facilities management, ideally in a multi-site organisation. Perhaps you have qualifications in facilities management or a similar field, or maybe you're more qualified by experience, either way it's that existing experience in maintenance and building work project management that we're looking for. You'll need strong organisational and analytical skills, excellent communication, and expertise in budget and supplier management.

You're not afraid to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in when needed. A practical, hands-on approach is essential, as you'll often find yourself balancing strategic planning with the day-to-day challenges of keeping things running smoothly. Flexibility and adaptability are key, as you'll need to align with our style of working and embrace the unique culture of our organisation. Whether it's managing a large-scale refurbishment or handling an unexpected maintenance issue, you'll bring a can-do attitude and a commitment to delivering solutions that work for everyone.
