Legal Secretary

We have a highly regarded Commercial Litigation team at VWV, who help our clients prevent and resolve disputes efficiently and commercially.

The team supports clients through all stages of a dispute, whether that's early negotiation and risk management or formal litigation, arbitration, or mediation. Matters are often complex, time-sensitive and business-critical, ranging from contract and shareholder disputes to professional negligence and insolvency issues.

We're now looking to recruit a Secretary in Bristol to support the team with the smooth running of client matters, providing high-quality administrative and organisational support to ensure cases progress efficiently.

Is This Your Next Career Move?

You'll play such a vital role supporting the Commercial Litigation team with a mix of administrative and secretarial duties to allow the fee earners to focus on client work. You'll manage correspondence, prepare and format legal documents, organise hearings and meetings, maintain case files, and liaise with clients, counsel and the courts.

Reporting to our Partner, Ed Husband, you'll play a key role in ensuring deadlines are met, documents are accurately produced, and the day-to-day running of matters is smooth and efficient.

Come and be a part of a fast-paced legal environment where every day brings new challenges and opportunities for growth. Your contribution directly impacts the firm's success and our ability to provide exceptional legal services to our clients.

Where Will I Be Working?

At VWV we have a truly unique and engaging culture that we hold dear. We work hard but we also love to have fun and we recognise that it's the social interaction between us that really embeds our culture. We have a "grown-up" working culture and try to be flexible and agile in the way we work, so we're currently working to a hybrid model of office and home working and would love for you to work from our Bristol office 2-3 days per week. We're happy to discuss any specific requirements of hybrid working with candidates on an individual basis.

Why Choose Us?

There are so many reasons to stop and explore VWV further.  We're known for our friendly and welcoming culture where teamwork and collaboration are key.  There's no pigeon-holing or glass ceilings here, just a professional yet relaxed culture where you can finally be yourself.  We invite you to watch this short video on the right-hand side to see what our own people have to say about us.

We're striving to be an inclusive employer, to create a workplace and environment that promotes and values diversity, where everyone, regardless of background, can reach their full potential. Contact our recruiter to discuss any adjustments needed so we can make this the best possible candidate experience for you.

Who Are We Hoping Will Apply?

Are you meticulous, organised, and proficient in IT? You'll have excellent attention to detail and communication skills, working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Word and strong administrative experience. If you consider yourself a self-starter eager to make a positive impact to a busy team, we'd love to hear from you.

In this role, maintaining a calm, helpful, and professional image is crucial to representing our firm positively. While previous secretarial/PA experience is desirable, candidates with experience working within a legal/litigation environment will be given preference. Previous use of Visual Files or another litigation case management system is also desirable for streamlining our processes.
