Secretary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Legal Secretary to join our growing Real Estate department, based in our Bristol office. This role will provide key support to either our Commercial Property or Construction team, contributing to the smooth and efficient progression of matters while being part of a friendly and collaborative environment.
Is This Your Next Career Move?
As a Legal Secretary, you'll play a vital role in keeping matters on track and supporting fee earners with a varied and engaging workload. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include producing and formatting high-quality documents, managing BigHand dictations, coordinating diaries, and organising meetings.
You'll support the full lifecycle of matters, from file opening and conflict checks through to completion and archiving. Depending on your team placement, this could involve commercial property transactions, construction contracts, reports, or bundles — all delivered accurately and efficiently.
Financial administration is also an important part of the role, including assisting with invoicing, billing, client balances, and liaising with the accounts team. Collaboration is key, and you'll work closely with colleagues across the Real Estate team, providing flexible support and ensuring matters progress seamlessly.
If you enjoy variety, thrive in a busy environment, and want to make a meaningful contribution to a supportive team, this could be the role for you.
Who Are We Hoping Will Apply?
Are you organised, detail-oriented, and confident working in a fast-paced environment? We're looking for someone with excellent IT and document formatting skills, alongside strong communication abilities and a proactive approach.
You'll have a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Word, and the ability to produce professional documentation quickly and accurately. Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing workloads are essential, as you'll be supporting multiple fee earners.
Previous secretarial or PA experience is highly desirable, and experience within a legal environment would be an advantage. Exposure to commercial property or construction work — or familiarity with related documentation — would be beneficial, but not essential.
Most importantly, you'll be a calm, approachable team player who takes pride in delivering high-quality work and supporting colleagues across the Real Estate team.
This role is suited to experienced Legal Secretaries or administrators; candidates seeking paralegal or fee-earning opportunities are encouraged to explore our Paralegal vacancies instead.
