Secretary
At VWV, our Secretaries are a really important part of our legal teams. You'll help keep things organised, support our lawyers and play an important role in making sure our clients receive a great service.
We're looking for a friendly, organised and proactive Secretary to join our Employment team in Bristol. If you enjoy being part of a busy team, are confident with document production and like being someone your colleagues can rely on, we'd love to hear from you..
Is This Your Next Career Move?
You'll provide day-to-day secretarial and administrative support to our Employment lawyers, helping them manage their workload and keep things running smoothly.
No two days will be exactly the same. You'll be involved in everything from preparing documents and managing diaries to dealing with calls, emails, meetings and general administration. You'll also have plenty of opportunity to build relationships with colleagues and clients and become a valued part of the team.
Day to day, you'll:
- Produce accurate, professional documents and correspondence, including copy typing and occasional audio transcription.
- Manage diaries, emails, calls and meeting arrangements for the lawyers you support.
- Maintain files and records, keeping everything organised and up to date.
- Support billing and other financial administration where required.
- Deal with incoming and outgoing correspondence, including arranging signing and despatch.
- Work closely with colleagues across the Employment team and wider firm, helping out where needed.
Who Are We Hoping Will Apply?
We're looking for someone with previous secretarial experience, ideally within a legal or professional services environment, although this isn't essential.
You'll be organised, reliable and confident producing accurate work, with good typing and document production skills. Just as importantly, you'll be approachable, helpful and enjoy working as part of a team.
We're looking for someone who has:
- Good typing and document production skills, including occasional audio typing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage your own workload.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work.
- A flexible and positive approach, with a willingness to support colleagues.
- Confidence using Microsoft Word and other standard office technology.
If you're a law graduate and your aim is to build a career in law, we would encourage you to look out for our Paralegal opportunities as oppose to a Secretary. This role is more focused on secretarial and administrative support rather than legal work and will not open the door to a training contract.
