  • Working Hours:
    Full Time

Secretary

We have a top-ranked Regulatory Risk and Resolution team at VWV helping commercial clients (rather than individuals) for the most part, some of which are household names, to ensure they have the right structure, policies and procedures in place to satisfy their regulators and run effectively.

This team also helps them when things go wrong - this may be after a critical incident (such as a health and safety issue) or an allegation of mismanagement (perhaps following a complaints process).  This can be urgent, confidential and highly sensitive, such as when dealing with allegations of abuse. Much of the work involves schools.

We are excited to be recruiting for a full time Secretary/PA based in Bristol.  The team is split across Bristol and London and the successful candidate will primarily be working with Bristol lawyers, sharing the team's workload with another part time secretary.

Is This Your Next Career Move?

This is a team and a role offering plenty of opportunity to gain both internal and client-facing experience, to support a large and thriving team, to help with business development and to help us drive efficiency.

You'll support a team of lawyers, building strong relationships with both the Regulatory Compliance.  You'll manage diaries, book meetings and travel, help with accounting and billing, produce timely and accurate documents and much more.

This is such a vital role so if you're looking for variety where you can truly make an impact, this could be the opportunity for you.

Where Will I Be Working?

At VWV we have a truly unique and engaging culture that we hold dear. We work hard but we also love to have fun and we recognise that it's the social interaction between us that really embeds our culture. Whilst this unusual time has proved we can work effectively as a business from home, we're currently working to a hybrid model of office and home working.  We have a "grown-up" working culture and try to be flexible and agile in the way we work. We are happy to discuss any specific requirements of hybrid working with candidates on an individual basis.

Why Choose Us?

There are so many reasons to stop and explore VWV further.  We're known for our friendly and welcoming culture where teamwork and collaboration are key.  There's no pigeon-holing or glass ceilings here, just a professional yet relaxed culture where you can finally be yourself.  We invite you to watch this short video on the right-hand side to see what our own people have to say about us.

We're striving to be an inclusive employer, to create a workplace and environment that promotes and values diversity, where everyone, regardless of background, can reach their full potential. Contact our recruiter to discuss any adjustments needed so we can make this the best possible candidate experience for you.

Who Are We Hoping Will Apply?

You'll be an experienced secretary with the ability and confidence to support the team from partner level to trainee solicitor.  It's a busy role so you'll be organised, an excellent all-round communicator with proficient IT skills using Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel and Powerpoint. Experience using document and case management systems, is a huge advantage.

Your existing experience in the legal sector/litigation environment will certainly help you hit the ground running. If you consider yourself a self-starter with first-rate attention to detail we'd love to hear from you.
