Supervising Litigation Solicitor (SFRS)

One of the many areas of law we help independent schools with is debt recovery.  A surprising number of parents and third parties responsible for payment of a child's school fees later seek to avoid payment, for a variety of different reasons.  With this in mind, it's important for schools to have effective fee recovery solutions available to them in the event that their internal processes don't lead to payment.  At VWV we've a dedicated team dealing with the recovery of school fees, and a market-leading School Fees Recovery Scheme.

Tabitha Cave and James Garside are looking to recruit a litigation solicitor to join the team, based in Bristol.

Could This Be Your Next Career Move?

This is an exciting role to support our nationally-renowned education practice.

You'll handle your own caseload of debt recovery files and help to train, develop and supervise paralegals, trainees and legal executives in the team, demonstrating an awareness of the legal issues and risks involved, an understanding of litigation procedure and a willingness to work with clients on a trusted advisor basis.

The advice we provide to schools on debt recovery has proved to be a fantastic lead into other business for us, so we're looking for candidates with a willingness and aptitude to help to promote our broader education offering to new and existing clients.

Where Will I Be Working?

At VWV we have a collaborative and engaging culture that we hold dear. We work hard but we also love to have fun and recognise that strong working relationships provide a rich working life and are critical to our success. We have a "grown-up" working culture and try to be flexible and agile in the way we work.  Our usual approach is a hybrid model combining home and office (Bristol) working with an expectation of a minimum of two office days a week.  We are happy to discuss any specific aspects of hybrid working with candidates on an individual basis.

Why Choose Us?

With around 600 employees, we're a sizeable firm that continues to grow. We're known for our friendly and welcoming culture where teamwork and collaboration are key. There's no pigeon-holing or glass ceilings here, just a professional yet relaxed culture where you can finally be yourself.  We invite you to watch this short video on the right hand side to see what our own people have to say about us.

We offer an exciting array of benefits and are passionate about creating an inclusive workplace that promotes and values diversity.  We're striving to create an environment where everyone, regardless of background or needs, can reach their full potential.

So, Who Are We Hoping Will Apply?

You'll be a qualified Solicitor who can not only demonstrate competence and experience in litigation/debt recovery, but who also has a genuine passion for supervising and developing others.  Someone that's motivated by the success of the team, ahead of their own, with a genuine flair for people management, proud and confident in promoting the expertise and efficiency of the team.  Perhaps you're at the relative infancy of your career or maybe you've already got a number of years' post-qualified experience under your belt - either way, if you're a litigation lawyer with a strong background in this area then we'd love to hear from you.

Not Sure Whether To Apply?
