Our large and experienced team of employment lawyers provides specialist legal advice and support to employers of all sizes in all sectors. Due to one of the current secretaries progressing to a paralegal role, the Partner and Head of the Employment team, Gareth Edwards is looking to recruit their replacement. This Secretary role is full time based in Bristol.

Is This Your Next Career Move?

In this role you'll be invaluable by taking ownership of the legal administration tasks to allow our lawyers to focus on business generation.  You'll support the team with filing, typing, diary management and building rapport with our clients. You will work as part of a team of secretaries based in Bristol and across our other offices.

You'll provide secretarial support to all lawyers in your team, in particular Gareth Edwards. You'll become familiar with the firm's compliance procedures for letters of engagement, file opening, money laundering, archiving, billing and client accounts.  And you'll get to brush up on those all-important client facing skills as you play a key part in gathering relevant information from clients to assist the lawyers with their enquiries.

Where Will I Be Working?

For safety at this time our people have been working remotely but we are just starting a staged return to our offices on a flexible part-time basis.  This flexible and agile approach means we can discuss hybrid working with candidates on an individual basis.

So Who Are We Hoping Will Apply?

You'll be an experienced secretary with the ability and confidence to support the team from partner level to trainee solicitor.  It's a busy role so you'll be organised, an excellent all-round communicator with proficient IT skills using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. You're someone who's motivated by the team's successes ahead of their own and your calm, professional phone manner will be a fantastic first impression for our private clients.  

Whilst familiarity with the employment law sector is not essential, it will certainly help you hit the ground running.
