Consultant

At VWV, we're more than just a law firm—we're a dynamic, collaborative team that thrives on innovation and excellence. With 600 staff across London, Watford, Bristol, and Birmingham, we're a full service law firm that is nationally recognised for our expertise in the education and charity sectors. But we don't stop at legal services. Our corporate group goes beyond the traditional, offering valuable consultancy support through Narrow Quay Consulting Limited (NQC). This includes Narrow Quay HR (NQHR), which provides expert HR consultancy, and Narrow Quay Solutions (NQS), which delivers other specialist non-legal consultancy services. We're excited to be recruiting for a Consultant to join Narrow Quay Solutions (NQS) in Bristol and we're open to both full or part time candidates.

About the Role

Are you ready to take on a career-defining challenge? We're on the hunt for ambitious and driven consultants to join Narrow Quay Solutions (NQS) and help propel our consultancy to the next level. It's an opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of NQS, developing innovative solutions, and delivering exceptional results for clients, particularly in the education and charity sectors. You'll be leading from the front—driving new projects, spotting growth opportunities, and ensuring we maintain our reputation for outstanding service. If you have a strategic mindset, an entrepreneurial spirit, and deep sector knowledge, we want to hear from you.

This role is at the heart of NQS's growth journey. You'll be instrumental in defining our direction, ensuring we align with VWV's wider vision while also driving revenue and expanding our influence. Your work will involve designing new service lines, identifying and securing fresh business opportunities, and boosting our reach through smart, creative marketing strategies. More than just winning work, you'll be building strong, long-term relationships with clients—becoming their go-to trusted advisor.

Quality is our hallmark, so you'll oversee every project to ensure it meets our standards while also rolling up your sleeves to personally deliver results where needed. Client feedback will drive continuous improvement, and you'll have the freedom to shape and refine our consultancy offering.

About you

We're looking for a standout individual with strong financial acumen and an in-depth understanding of the education and/or charity sector. You're an entrepreneurial thinker with a knack for spotting opportunities and making things happen. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are essential—you'll be building trust and credibility with clients, colleagues, and key stakeholders. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, juggling multiple priorities and delivering results under pressure. Ideally, you'll have experience working in a professional services firm and a track record of driving revenue and profit growth in a consultancy setting. An accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or finance/regulatory compliance experience (e.g. as an inspector) would be a major plus, but what really matters is your ability to lead, innovate, and deliver.

Why Join Us?

This is your chance to be part of something special. At NQS, we offer a flexible, hybrid working model based out of our Bristol office, giving you the autonomy to balance work and life in a way that suits you. You'll be working alongside a talented and supportive team, in a consultancy that is growing fast and full of ambition. We offer a competitive salary, a comprehensive benefits package, and a genuinely exciting career path with room to forge your own path to success.
